
The Office of the President of Ukraine held a meeting with the families of people who went missing under special circumstances. Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, chaired the event.
People from the Office of the Commissioner for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances, the General Staff, the Ministry of Defence, the Land Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Reintegration, and the National Information Bureau answered the relatives’ questions.
The event covered the following issues:
– finding out what happened to missing soldiers and telling their families;
– What the government is doing to find missing or captured people.
– How bodies of dead soldiers are identified.
– find out what’s happening with the investigation into the disappearance of servicemen.
– working with other organizations to make sure that humanitarian rules and security are followed when helping the wounded and dead, as well as to find out where Ukrainians are being held by russia.
– Problems of creating corridors for the evacuation of the wounded and killed from active combat zones.
– Programs to help families search for missing persons.
The National Information Bureau collects missing person information for the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
